What can I help with?

This may be a time in your life when you’re feeling low, anxious, depressed or confused.

Life can be unpredictable and uncertain which can have a negative impact on how you feel or perhaps your thoughts and beliefs may be sabotaging your real potential in life.

There are many reasons why we might be feeling challenged, when life starts to take an unexpected turn, when we’re experiencing emotional pain or when we’re feeling stuck and as though we’re existing rather than living resulting in stress, tension, conflict, uncertainty and negativity.

Together we’d explore your current difficulties, building awareness around what’s happening for you in the moment and making sense and meaning of your experiences at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I offer online counselling support in areas including depression, anxiety, bereavement and loss, relationship difficulties, trauma, abuse, stress management, addiction, bullying, low confidence and self esteem, health issues, pregnancy and work related problems.

About my Practice

I believe we all have mental health and depending on our past and current experiences our mental wellbeing can fluctuate from good to poor and sometimes all we need is a safe space to talk to someone about what’s troubling us. Through the trusting therapeutic relationship, awareness is built, unfinished business can be resolved, painful memories and emotions can be processed and something different can start to emerge.

As an Integrative practitioner I draw on various tools and techniques from my different trainings to best support you and your healing and growth, I'm therefore very client focused, adapting sessions to individual needs.

As a Humanistic practitioner, the foundation of my work draws on accepting and understanding you as you are, fully empathising with your experience and being open and genuine with you at all times.  My approach is very person-centred; you as a unique person are at the heart of my practice, your individual goals, needs and strengths naturally guide our work together.

I work holistically and relationally, attending to all aspects of you (mind, body and spirit) in the here and now and in relationship with me, so that, together, we can build awareness in a co-created, safe and trusting space where growth and change can organically occur. 

  • Creating Awareness within a Supportive Relationship

    I provide a holding and supportive space for us to gently explore, at a pace that feels comfortable for you, any negative thoughts, irrational beliefs, troubling feelings and behaviours that may be inhibiting you from reaching your full potential in life and in relationships.

    I believe in being transparent, open and genuine, I will ‘meet’ you person to person to support you with whatever you’re going through.

    By building awareness of your internal experience within a safe therapeutic space, where trust, empathy and understanding create the foundation of our work together, we can begin to move through any difficulties you’re facing and relieve any negative symptoms you may be experiencing.

  • Understanding any outdated coping mechanisms and processing any unfinished business from the past

    Together we’d understand the meaning behind any patterns of relating and any coping mechanisms that may once have served a useful purpose but now need ‘updating’, an empowering step to creating positive change in life and relationships.

    Although our symptoms might be distressing and painful, our mind and body are often telling us to take notice of something that may need addressing in the here and now. Some unfinished business from the past may need to be addressed, together we’d work through this so that you can move forward in life and in relationships with greater awareness and a sense of acceptance and compassion.

  • Committing to creating change and taking action leading to holistic wellbeing and happiness

    By now we would have developed a greater understanding of who you are, the meaning of your thoughts, feelings and behaviour and how your experiences may be impacting on your life, your choices and your relationships.

    This greater sense of clarity and understanding can be transformational, in addition to the self-supportive tools you will be using to manage any distressing symptoms.

    I will support you to create lasting change in how you think, feel and behave in relationship to yourself and the world around you, opening your mind, heart and soul to possibilities and changes that will bring holistic wellbeing and happiness.

How it all begins

I value the rapport between myself and clients and believe the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of our work together and so offer an initial free consultation so that we can get to know each other and openly discuss what brings you to therapy before embarking on the journey of Counselling together. It will also give you the opportunity ask me any questions about my practice.

Should we feel that working together would be a good fit, we’d enter into a counselling contract, setting out some basic terms whilst working together, which we can discuss in more detail in the initial consultation and adapt according to your needs.

The first Counselling session can feel daunting but I will provide a space for you to feel comfortable and relaxed so that you can begin to tell me about the difficulties and challenges you're currently facing in life and we can embark on this journey of healing and growth side by side, together we'll walk through your process of change.
