Reflexology

WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?

Reflexology is a complementary therapy based on the belief that reflex areas in the feet and hands correspond to all of the organs and other parts of our bodies.

Reflexology works on an individual basis and may alleviate and improve symptoms such as everyday stress and tension, helping your whole body restore its balance naturally.

Reflexology can be a wonderfully calming experience where you can take time out from everyday pressures and feel relaxed and restored, which in turn can help improve your mood, aid your sleep and enhance your overall sense of wellbeing.

Please be aware that reflexology should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice.

WHAT WOULD A TYPICAL SESSION ENTAIL?

In the initial session I will begin by taking a detailed medical history which you will be asked to sign prior to treatment.

I will then ask you to remove footwear and socks and the reflexology treatment will commence in a comfortable chair. I will make a visual and tactile examination of your feet before beginning precise reflexology massage movements which involve the application of an appropriate pressure using the thumb and fingers.

On occasion the reflexology will be performed on your hands. The initial treatment will last one hour and fifteen minutes and subsequent reflexology sessions will typically last one hour.
